Little Thunder Mountain

Little Thunder Mountain is a 900’ long steel track that barrels through a mountain, over a waterfall, and even launches you out of a cave.

Our storyline embedded itself in the spirit of the old west, where cowboys and outlaws duked it out for land, gold, and power. We expanded our team to include more people who shared our love of story and craftsmanship, and this allowed us to automate our ride through a PLC, construct a large pre-show set, program an animatronic to respond to a menu of gestures, equip the rider with interactive IR sensor equipment, and implement a mid-ride launch.

Twice as much track meant a whole extra mountain of rock work, which was attacked fearlessly by our team of nearly 45 rock artisans who placed, sculpted, textured, and painted nearly 10,000 square feet of rigid foam. Construction of the entire ride took less than four months and opened to thunderous applause on opening night.
